Quality time with the birthday boy

Zack, who takes much shorter naps than Abby, was up and we decided it was a perfect opportunity to have him open his presents and get some special and individual birthday celebrating with out his sister stealing helping open presents.  It was fun to see his excitement and actually have the opportunity to enjoy his presents.  He is so loved and we really appreciate all the gifts that grandparents sent!  He loved all his new toys and we are finally are pretty balanced with "boy" and "girl" toys:).  Happy 2nd birthday, Zack!!!

Grandma & Grandpa Martin wrote a special book for Zack's birthday, Zack, Abby and the the Witch.  It is such a great book!  Thank you.

Zack's 2nd Birthday and Easter

Zack's 2nd birthday fell on Easter this year and so we hosted Easter and celebrated Z's birthday all in one.  We had planned to have the party in Kaneohe at the botanical gardens where we had Easter a few years back but the weather forecast was rainy so we moved the party to our pool instead.  It worked out just fine and we only had to walk a few feet instead of driving 45 minutes.
I couldn't decide if I liked the black & white or color better:)

Happy Easter!

Momma and the birthday boy

A & Z

Gavin, Dylan, Zack & Abby

After the family photos, we hunted for eggs and celebrated our little man.  Abby was READY to get her eggs and the treats inside!  She is off and running before the other kids have even realized what is going on.

The kids comparing proud of their egg hunting skills
After the hunt, it was time to celebrate the birthday boy!  We swam and ate, and played and swam some more.  Z decided to jump in sans his float and I got the opportunity to swim also:).

Not sure what these two kiddos are up to...

The little guy loves the water and it was sa perfect way to celebrate his 2nd birthday.

Thanks to all who were able to join us to celebrate Zack and Easter.

Easter Festivities

The Weida family's community association hosted Easter activities (like they do for most holidays) so we suited up and headed over to see the Easter bunny and hunt for some eggs.
It was a perfect morning and the kids could not have been more excited to meet the Easter bunny.  Zack was jumping up and down with excitement and I had to hold him back until it was his turn.  He charged him when he got the green light.  A bit different from last year!

The kids got their allotted six eggs and it was time to go home.  They were just as excited to go to Costco on the way home!  It is the simple things in life:).

Kuhio day

We spent Kuhio day at the Marriott's pool relaxing and splashing in the water.  Thanks to Claudia's friends who visited and used our parking spot for the week.  They returned the favor with some wristbands, which was a perfect trade in my book.  The Buelow boys came along and the kids played in teh pool all morning.  I even got some reading and lots lots of relaxing in.

Belmont Park

While grandma and grandpa had to work we hit the beach for lots of play.  WE drove through Pacific Beach and spent the afternoon at Belmont Park on the boardwalk in Mission Beach.  We got a bunch of tickets and went on every ride they would let little ones go on.  I got nominated for the tilt-o-whirl.  Abby loved it, Zack tolerated it but said he liked it- pretty much the same way I felt:).

After a fun morning of rides and beach cruising we had lunch at Robertos.  Yummmy burritos:)

Rainy Day Fun

We had quite a bit of rain hit over the weekend so Matt found a indoor gym that was a perfect place to spend a rainy day.  They had couches and chairs for parents and it was made for kids to just run around, climb, jump and have a blast!

Abby's a natural climber.

Balls!  This pit was a hit.
Z and Pa spent quite  bit of time building with the HUGE legos.
