A Weekend with G & G

The kids and Grandma & Grandpa had a blast while we were in NOLA.  We got lots of pictures of the kids and all the fun they were having.

A trip to SeaWorld.

Art in the backyard.

Picnicing.

We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to take a weekend away knowing the kids are well taken care of and happily spending the weekend with their grandparents! Thanks mom & dad! xoxo

A Weeekend in NOLA

Matt was invited by his principal to attend a conference in New Orleans and it seemed like a perfect opportunity to make it a weekend getaway.

We had a hotel in the French Quarter right off of Bourbon Street.  We had so much fun walking around the streets, exploring the historical sights and sampling lots of great food and drinks.

I loved all the music and the people watching!  It felt like a non stop party where everyone was invited.

On Saturday we drove out to the swamp for a boat tour.  we saw crocodiles and boars and a very different way of life!

One of the many highlights was the breakfast! I'm ready to go back for the beignets.  Overall it was an amazing trip and an ideal opportunity to enjoy the weekend together.

This and That

There are a few pics that I found on my phone from the last month or so.

Abby went to her first birthday party ALONE!  It was a pretty easy transition since it was our neighbor Brynn's birthday and it included her Tball team going to the movies.  Abby was the only preschooler and the rest of the girls are in Kindergarten.

Abby got up and decided to make her own peanut butter toast.

More truck rides around the neighborhood.

Bill's book is out!  It is so awesome...check it out!

Z is very excited about something... just can't remember what.

There has been a  lot of building and designing for marbles around here lately

Z writing cards for his teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.

We had a BBQ with some neighbors a few weeks ago.

After we ate the kids rocked out!

Mother's day muffins with the kiddos at preschool

Thankfully, this is about as exciting as it got in our neighborhood with the fires.  We could see the smoke and it was the talk of the town but we were fortunate enough to not be evacuated in any of the 8  or so fires. The fire fighters and community did a great job containing the madness.

Wine tasting in Temecula

Jen and I had been trying to plan a double date (with our men) for a while and finally booked a Groupon wine tasting deal to make sure that we did it.  We met up in Temecula and had a wine tasting tour (yawn!) but the wine and company were great!

Easter

Thankfully I take a lot of pictures otherwise I would forget about most things that we do...  Here are some pictures of Easter.  The kids woke us up and I had a momentary memory lapse  forgetting it was Easter and forgot to grab my phone to capture the Easter basket craziness.  The kids found their baskets from the jelly bean trails and thankfully the Eater Bunny included more toys than treats this year.

Abby got some glitter tattoos and so we spent the morning putting them on.

After the morning festivities we went to church with my parents and the kids were right at home in the game room.

After church we relaxed at home.  I couldn't help but snap a pic of these two. We often find them snuggled up and I just love it!  Matt will often say to me, "We did it...we wanted to have kids that could be close enough to friends and we did it."  We didn't know exactly what we wanted  or how it would play out but close in age was all we could control and so far it has been better than we could have imagined.

After a little R & R we headed over to my parent's house for dinner.

Zack, still obsessed with hunting eggs, hid and found his own Easter eggs.
