Kokua Festival 2010

Matt and I hadn't planned on going to the concert and even tried to sell our tickets but the stars aligned we ended up going with both Zack and Abby and had a fabulous time. Initially, I was jut going to go with Zack and Matt was going to stay home with Abby but right before I left to go down, I got an email inviting us to VIP party which meant no lines and free food and beer so Matt and I thought that it was an opportunity we couldn't pass up. Zack slept in the sling and was fabulous all day and Abby wore herself out playing with all the kids and eating everyone's food. She fell asleep during the show on Matt's shoulders and peacefully dozed under the starts while Jack played so we could enjoy it. It was such a fun night of great music and Zack enjoyed meeting all of his Hawaii family finally.

An added bonus I even got to see Jack! You know when you wonder what you would do if you ever got up close and personal to someone famous...He walked past me and no one else was around and I resisted the urge to scream and said, "hey". He smiled and said, "hi"and... that was it.

Jack Johnson Soundcheck

I have been looking forward to this day for 2 months! In February, I went to a beach clean up with the Hoffmans and was invited to go see Jack's soundcheck by the organizer who we know from other beach clean ups in Waianae.

We decided that it would be too much forr Abby so she went to daycare and Matt, Zack and I headed to Waikiki and had lunch at LuLu's overlooking the beach. We met up with a small group from other beach clean ups and were given great goody bags with towels, water bottles, stickers and a great bag!

We had seats front and center and got to enjoy a private concert for about 45 minutes. It was so cool and Zack was an angel.

A Day on the North Shore

We got an early start and headed up to the North Shore on my parent's last day. We went to Waimea falls. It is a beautiful walk and we all enjoyed the scenery and exercise that I desperately needed!

We made quick stop to see the turtles anad ended up getting some good family photos by random strangers.

We ended with a great lunch at Haleiwa Joe's and of course shave ice!
We had a fantastic time with my parents and I am so thankful that they were here to help us through the last two weeks. I am not sure what we would have done without them. Abby is already missing her grandparents and has to adjust to not get constant attention:).

An Evening in Waikiki

We ventured to Waikiki for dinner at Duke's and an evening stroll. It was an adventure for sure but for the most part it went okay considering I left all of Abby's food and milk at home. Thanks to Matt's MacGyver creating of a sippy cup/ milk bottle and lots of hands to hold the babies.

Shopping in the International Market Place
Zack sleeping through dinner...thankfully:)

Zack's First Week

Here are some fun pictures of Zack's first week. It is hard to believe that he is already a week old. He slept in 3 hour chunks all night which meant I only got up twice in the middle of the night to feed him...yeah! He is so content (much more than his sister was at this age) and easy going. We are loving our little man and enjoying our family. It feels pretty complete..we'll see:).

Grandma & Grandpa Hughes

It has been so fun to have my parents here and of course extremely helpful! Abby is having a blast with her grandparents and getting tons of special attention. Here are some fun pictures of the past week.

Our First Outing

We had our first outing besides the doctor yesterday. The boys went golfing in Ewa in the afternoon and my mom and I took Abby and Zack to Target and walking at KoOlina. Zack slept in the sling at Target and Abby was pretty good...don't know if I could have managed this without my mom though. We broke in the double stroller at KoOlina and despite its size it moves pretty easily. We got halfway done with the loop and Abby was restless and Zack needed to eat so Grandma and Abby ran around and I fed Zack.

We met up with my dad and Matt at Chuck's for my dad's birthday dinner. It was a really nice meal. I had my first Longboard in at least 9months...O SO GOOD! Zack slept the whole time and Abby got lots of attention. It was a very successful first evening out except for the fact that it lasted about 20 minutes too long. I knew it was time to go but I also knew they gave free mud pies for birthdays. A momentary lapse in judgment led me to ask for the mud pie. Just as we were leaving Zack started to fuss...We were at Lagoon 3 and the car was at Lagoon 4...I decided to send the family home in one car and feed Zack in the other car and then go home. Good plan except his fusing quickly became screaming so...I ran ( yes ran) with the double stroller from lagoon 3 to 4 with a screaming baby in slippers and pants that were falling off. Thankfully, it was dark so no one had tho witness this sight. It was pretty funny- I was even laughing at myself as I was running.

Love the stroller..Thanks mom & dad!!!
