Daddy Camp

The last day of school for Abby and Zack- back in June- Matt visited both of their classrooms and made ice cream with dry ice for all the kids.  He let them all help and get involved and they loved it!

Look how happy this girl is!

Matt made some for us at home too...it was really good!

Before and after we were in PA Matt took the kids and kept hem busy out and about every day while I was working.  I loved getting all the pictures from their adventures but hated not being there!!

He took them to the beach with one of his friends who has girls that same age as A & Z and they fell in love with body surfing and playing in the waves.

They went to La Jolla Cove one afternoon and I was able to leave work early and join them:).

Museums alternate free entrance in Balboa Park so Matt took the kids the Science and Natural History museums.  I love how much they absorb in these places.

And they hung out in Balboa Park

Another day they visited the new water park downtown.  I think we definitely need to go back and do this again.

There were a few boo boos...

He took the kids on a 5 mile bike ride around miramar lake.  Abby rode her bike the whole way and Z rode the bike attachment on Matt's bike.

They spent some time at the community pool.

They spent one full day at Aquatica, the water park. Zack could squeeze by and they wet on lots of big water slides.  I can't wait to go back with them!  They all raved about the day.

Z caught some crayfish at the creek.

And they went to a inflatable world and rode lots of slides and bounced all afternoon!

The best part was how much he loved taking them all over.  They seriously have no idea how good they have it and how lucky they are to have such an amazing daddy!

Abby's 1st Loose Tooth

Just recently we noticed that Abby had a tooth coming in behind her baby tooth and then we realized her tooth was loose.  She kept playing with it but there hadn't been much progress.  One day Matt was wiggling it and pushed pretty hard.  Abby looked stunned and like she was going to cry and then, as she was wiggling her tooth, she pulled it out and was so excited that she yanked it out herself.  We all rushed to the bathroom to check out the big event.

You can see the new tooth (and a little blood) almost all the way in.  It has moved into the spot her other tooth was in and surprised us all. 1 down 19 to go!

The tooth fairy gave her a gold dollar coin.  She promptly lost it:).

Heading home

Getting ready to go to the airport

Helpful kids!

They are pretty good travelers:)

Grandma Lori & Grandpa Don dropped off the car for us since they were heading out the same day for their trip to Honduras.  The kids were thrilled to see a note and a lolipop waiting for them.

As soon as we got home the neighborhood kids were having a lemonade sale.  The kids jumped right back into the swing of things within minutes of being home.

More PA fun

These pictures finish off the trip, I think  We had a great trip and fit in quite a bit in our 2 weeks!

Shopping with grandma.

Yummy dinner at the Appalachian Brewing Company.

Grandpa and Zack hard at work

Gardening with grandma

Craft time

Movie night

Loving some ice cream and conversation.

Mechanicsburg Pool

The days were definitely warm and we enjoyed cooling off in the pool.  It is hard to believe how much the kids progressed in swimming.  This was about a month ago and Zack was still hesitant about swimming on his own and set on wearing his floaties.  Now he is pretty much swimming independently.  It is amazing how much difference a little time and confidence can make!

Taking a little lunch break.

The kids weren't big enough to go on the slides during all swim but when there was a break they let them go since no one else was in the poll- didn't exactly make sense to me but I went with it.  They went on the slides about 20 times and loved it!
