A few months prior to our trip to Pennsylvania we were Skyping with Grandma & Grandpa Martin and they mentioned the possibility of celebrating the holidays with the kids since they hadn't been able to throughout the year. The kids were very excited and basically counted down the days to our trip.
Grandma Martin thoughtfully prepared projects and activities for a variety of holidays. The first holiday we celebrated was Groundhog's Day. The kids made groundhogs and the adults watched the movie.
They celebrated the big holidays while we were in Boston and we got text messages of all the fun... our friends were equally excited to see which holiday it was throughout the weekend! Easter was a big and and reportedly Abby's favorite. Uncle Bob dressed up as the Eater Bunny and there was a major egg hunt!
We were on our way to Boston and got this picture in a text message. We both were shocked and then put our money on Abby (sorry babe) ...then thankfully got a text back that it was April Fools! They got us good!
Christmas was another big event! The kids made trees...
Baked cookies...
and, of course, ate them.
They got lots of presents...lucky kiddos!
Each of the kids planted trees and a plant for Arbor Day.
G & G did not disappoint with their promise of holiday fun. The kids had a blast celebrating all the different holidays and will remember this forever!
