Christmas Break with the Martins Part 1

We kept very busy while the Martins were in town a took full advantage of our time together.

Abby and I made a few bowls with her new Pottery wheel.

We made time for lots of snuggles

We visited Christmas Card Lane where I grew up in PQ.  The kids loved all the lights and we all enjoyed walking around.

Mar and I took the kids to see Big Hero 6.  Super cute movie!

The guys went to the Holiday Bowl.

Even more snuggles.

Played with lots of legos and puzzles

We walked Miramar Lake with my mom one afternoon.

Wine Country with Grandpa & Grandma Martin

Grandma & Grandpa Martin came to spend Christmas with us for the first time!  We had a blast and started off with a trip to wine country in Temecula.  We had a nice picnic and played some bocce ball

Our little bear cubs love to wrestle...everywhere

Enjoying quality time with G & G.

Almost a nice family picture.  You win this time Abby...

Relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view and company.

Discovery Isle Winter Concert

Zack's preschool class put on a show for the parents.  They learned a few songs and acnes and were pretty cute on stage!

Quite a cute group of 4 year olds!

Love this kid!

Shane and Zack.

Letter to Santa

Zack has a deep love for turtles and although he doesn't love writing when he has to copy letters in school (surprise!), he does if he has a good reason to.  He found a book about turtles and on his own accord began copying the turtle's names to write a letter to Santa.  Seriously, melts my mommy and educator heart all at once!

He worked so hard on this for 2 days and then he was finally ready to address his envelope and send it to Santa.

Abby got a nice art set for her birthday and had fun painting the scenery outside too.

Abby's 6th Birthday Party

Surprise, surprise Abby had a Frozen birthday party like very other little girl this year!  She doesn't even really like the movie she thought it sounded like a good birthday theme for a December girl.  Unfortunately it rained the night before and was still a bit drizzly in the morning so we went to plan B and moved everything inside.  It was busy with about 20 girls and moms in the house but we managed and the girls had a blast!

We turned the dining room into a crafting station where they made snowflakes and then their own creations with stickers and paper and all sorts of stuff I threw on the table.  I love to see what they come up with.  It kept some of them busy for quite a while.

We played pin the nose on Olaf.  The girls ran the game themselves and just rotated the blindfolded beanie and attempted to get the nose on Olaf.  They were so cute and had so much fun watching where everyone put the noses.

Of course the kitchen is always a good meetings place.  Lots of food and fun!

After lunch I took all the old Halloween candy and split it into 4 bags with a box of graham crackers and icing and split the girls up.  Each team went to a different areas and spent 30 minutes creating gingerbread houses.

The final products...

And the big event- Cupcakes!

And presents!  I tried unsuccessfully to get the kids to move back.  They were like magnets to Abby opening presents.

Another successful party in the books! Happy 6th birthday to our Abby girl.  We love you to the moon and back!
