Malaekahana

We had a week off of school and camped (with shelter) over the last weekend of the break.  We had 3 families staying in the cabin.  The location was great and the cabin we stayed in had 3 rooms-1 for each family.  With 5 kids under 4 it was busy buy we had a blast and all made it work.

It may have been a little rough around the edges (literally).

The views were spectacular and allowed us to hang by the beach all weekend.

The kids were so cute together.  When we got home Abby asked where Gavin was...she was so usedd to having him around.
The guys played Portguese horseshoes while the kids slept and the moms stayd at the beach
We had to improvise for baby gates:)

Spoiled

Monica convinced all of us to take advantage of a deal for massage, facials and some other fun stuff at the Hilton Hawaiian spa.  We got there early to take advantage of the pools, drink mimosas and lounge.

A few more girls met us out for dinner at Kobe.  I love that place!
I feel so lucky to have a great hubby that will take care of the kiddos and not bat an eye when I say I want to go spend the day at the spa (okay, he may laugh and make a few jokes) but he is always supportive and to have great girlfriends that enjoy spending quality time together and are always up for a good time with and without the kids.  We certainly missed the girls who have moved.  There have been a lot lately and sadly, more are leaving pretty soon:(.

Little Picassos

I broke out the finger paint for the kids and they certainly didn't hold back.  They both just love to blend all the colors and make a big mess on paper, themselves and anything in their path!
just getting started!

mmm...yummy finger paint

masterpiece complete

Random Stuff

This year has gone way too fast for me.  I can't believe how fast the months are flying by!  It feels like school was just starting and now October is halfway over.   Here are some random pictures of the last couple weeks.

Matt brought home balloons from a conference he attended and the kids went nuts (literally) over them.  We popped them the next day after a tad too much excitement for me.

Abby threw all her covers off and finally wore herself out.  She looks so tiny in her big girl bed.
Matt and I called our old neighbor over to watch the kids mostly while they slept and we went out for date night and enjoyed a lovely sunset before dinner.
The grand opening of Aulani was a few weeks ago and we walked down tot see the show and fireworks.

Z is doing pretty good with his utensils.  First bowl (and seconds) of cheerios and milk all by himself.

Movie Night

Matt planned a family movie night and had projectors and all the accessories to make it happen but like most things with technology we had some malfunctions that prevented the "ideal".  Instead we just snuggled up on the living room floor, popcorn and all and watched it on the TV.  Shrek was the movie of the evening and the kids loved it (as do we).  For the first hour the kids watched intently, which is longer than we expected.  After getting some wiggles out, we ended up finishing the movie and even had a little dance party at the end with the rest of the Shrek cast.

The night was a huge success until Abby realized it was bed time after such a fun evening...She was NOT happy!

*** side note if you readnall these posts toghether- the kids have had other clothes other than the same PJs on this weekend (and so has Matt).  It just so happens I haven't taken any pictures of them:).

Little Proteges

Matt has been making smoothies for breakfast since we were dating (way back in the day) and we still have them every morning.  Our routine has changed a bit with the kids, however.   They both love their morning smoothie and Zack has taken to helping just as Abby has loved to do since she was about his age.

Weekend mornings we make pancakes and eggs or whatever sounds good.  This morning my 3 favorite people made breakfast so I had nothing left to do but take pictures (and fold laundry).

Caught on Camera

We got a video of Zack today practicing his names and refusing to say Mommy...he is such a little comedian!
