The week of Matt's birthday was very fun and very busy!
One of the major things was Matt's students made boats in physics class and he had a big exhibition for families to come see the kids sail them in the bay (have I mentioned yet that he LOVES his school and kids and is doing a fantastic job!!!). The big day was on his birthday and leading up to it there was an insane amount of work that he needed to do to pull it off. As expected, it went perfectly! It also worked out that since I was at a conference downtown, I was able to sneak over and see the boat launch.
We went down to La Jolla to celebrate with the family on Sunday night and ate at Karl Strauss. It was a great kick off to the birthday week. With an extra hour due to daylight savings it was also fun to play in the grass and watch the sunset although it was much later than we were used to by the time we got home.
On Wednesday, Matt's actual birthday, he and I went back to La Jolla to eat at the Crab Catcher...YUMMY!
He said it was the best birthday ever. No pressure for next year but he certainly deserves it after all he does around here! Love you lots.
