Day 1: We headed up early Thursday on the train and enjoyed the afternoon checking out the sites. We had nothing on the agenda but to enjoy the city. Neither of us had been to Greenwich Village before so we took the subway over in the evening and took advantage of the great restaurants and happy hour. After walking all around and we decided it was time for dinner and picked a wonderful little sushi restaurant that we already want to go back to!
Day 2: We were going to get up and see Beyonce in Central Park but when my alarm went off at 6 there was no way I was getting up. We settled for watching the end of GMA in bed. It was so nice o sleep in! After a day of biking around the park, which is so amazingly beautiful, we were planning on seeing a show but they were having a comedy central filming which was cheaper and probably a lot funnier.
We also checked out the MOMA to get our dose of culture for the trip. It was cool to see some art that is so famous and I love Frida Kahlo!
One of our favorite moments was finding the R Lounge. This view was so amazing and the perfect spot for a cocktail!
Day 3: We were leaving around noon so we headed over to Central Park and got a row boat for an hour to see the park form another perspective. Matt rowed, I lounged!
It was a a perfect trip to celebrate 5 years. Lots of great food (bagels, gyros, pizza, soup, pretzels), great sites and lots of fun! We had a blast with each other but couldn't wait to get home to see the kiddos.
